Home FAQs Contact Us
At High Peak Pet Funeral Services, we only carry out genuine, individual cremations in accordance with the codes of practice of the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries & Crematoria.  Unequivocally, that means that only one pet is placed into the cremation chamber at any one time.  Following the cremation, all ashes are removed from the chamber and the chamber is brushed clean.  The ashes are then placed into a casket or tribute of your choice.  We do not carry out mass disposals or handle clinical waste of any description from the vets. We are completely independent of all veterinary practices. Unlike some pet crematoria, we always return ashes with a Certificate of Cremation guaranteeing that the cremation was carried out in accordance with the APPCC codes of practice and that 100% and only the ashes of your pet are returned.

We will collect your pet from the vets.  Where we have been given sufficient notice, we will arrange to attend the vets at the time of your visit so that you can ensure the dignified & careful handling of your pet and its safe transfer to us. If you want us to do so, we will make all arrangements for collection with the vet on your behalf.

If you prefer the vet to visit your home to attend your pet in a stress-free, familiar environment, we will make arrangements to collect your pet, either at the time of the vet's visit, or at a time of your choosing afterwards. Pets are collected individually in our private estate car.  Alternatively, you may bring your pet to us at our crematorium where you are  welcome to inspect our premises to ensure that they are suitable for the reception of your treasured pet.

We have two leaflets available for you to download. The first sets out the services we provide and the standards we work to and the second is published by the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries & Crematoria and aims to help pet owners come to terms with losing their pet or having to make the difficult decision of having their pet put to sleep.

If you think you would prefer your vet to take care of arrangements, we have prepared a check-list of questions you should ask to ensure that you receive the service you really want. Please click this link.

INFORMATION FOR VETS & ANIMAL HEALTH-CARE PROFESSIONALS

We would welcome the opportunity of carrying out individual cremations on behalf of any local veterinary practice. We feel certain that vets offering a choice of cremation services to their clients would only serve to enhance their own reputations as caring after-death providers and we would be happy to assist them to raise their profile in this area.
