High Peak Pet Funeral Services is committed to providing the very best service to our clients. We do not carry out cheap, bulk disposals but rather concentrate on providing a quality, individual cremation that we feel the majority of caring pet owners would prefer. We believe that all pet owners should be given a free choice about the kind of handling and cremation they would like for their pet. To that end, we undertake to collect all pets individually at the time of, or immediately after euthanasia to avoid them having to be bagged and frozen and to deal personally with each owner on an individual basis, to ensure they receive a quality service that reflects well on both our respective businesses.

We strongly feel that our services should be promoted alongside your normal, bulk supplier in a way that you can honestly describe the options available instead of having to skirt round the issues of storage, transportation and individuality of cremation, which seems to happen with many veterinary practices. We do not, and never will, handle clinical waste.  However, we do understand that for the sake of convenience, many vets do choose a one-stop solution that will deal with this as well and we are able to engage a third party to handle all your clinical waste and associated supplies should you wish us to do so.

All veterinary practices should carry out regular inspections of the cremation facilities they use to ensure that their standards are being maintained and that the cremations they are selling to their clients are the ones being provided by the crematorium. You are reminded that your contract is with the client and, if services are being provided are not those that clients believe that they are receiving, any liability in this respect lies with the practice selling the service. Because many service providers are normally remote from a veterinary practice, this is often problematic but does leave you at risk if you do not do so.  Being local, our premises can be visited and inspected by you at any reasonable time to ensure that your (and our) high standards are being adhered to.

As can be seen in other parts of the country, any veterinary practice using the service of a crematorium affiliated to the APPCC greatly enhances its reputation as a caring pet health-care practitioner by continuing this care after a pet’s death. Providing a quality after-death service can reflect positively on them and greatly help owners come to terms with the loss of their pet.

All enquiries in this respect would be warmly welcomed.
